Moonage Daydream

The long-disused International Congress Centre Berlin (ICC Berlin) had ephemerally been opened for the recent exhibition ‘The Sun Machine Is Coming Down’. Thus, ICC Berlin serves as a time machine transversing through spaces and times, providing us with opportunities to explore the transforming zeitgeists. We will attempt to analyse the exhibition and historical events to draw parallel lines to social relations, hitories, science fictions, and artworks.

The Moonage Daydream, was named after David Bowie's song released in 1971. The word, Moonage, was coined by him and means moon-age — the age of moon travel apparently accelerated during the cold war. How far have we moved forward since then? Where have our eyes turned towards from there in dreaming of the future? What would the 'Earth-age' mean yet remained halfway through thinking?

I warmly invite you to the round table for discussion and doing storytelling. Relevant references will be distributed by the cutup method. Then, we will take a look at them as a source of inspiration from both micro and macro eye views. Please bring your own favorite tools and mediums, e.g. a laptop, drawing tools, arduino, clay, microscope or anything, since the form of outcome can be unlimitedly free.
